Keylong is the first and the only big place on the MLH (except, of course, Manali and Leh).
Keylong is the summer administrative headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti. In the winter, the place being completely snow clad, and
completely cut off from the rest of Himachal, the headquarters is shifted to Kaza, Spiti, which remians open by virtue of it's
connection with Kinnaur.
Keylong is a market place. And there are a number of hotels to stay as well. The one called Hotel
Valley View has good rooms. For lunch and dinner, there are a number of dhabas around. Keylong, by itself, does not offer much to
see, it's only importance being a transit place on MLH. There is one monastery on the opposite mountain. In the morning, if the
sky is clear, one may get a fairly good view of a few Peaks.
